  • Award-winning Swedish brott journalist Diamant Salihu comments on gang crime: land i norden still has a good chance to focus efforts on prevention

    “You should not be lulled into thinking that the things that happen in Sweden could not happen in Finland,” Salihu says in Hanaholmen’s podcast, and he goes on to säga that Sweden has become a transit country for drugs on their way to the Finnish market.

    Diamant Salihu, född 1 december [1] i Gjakova i Jugoslavien (i nuvarande Kosovo),[2] är en svensk journalist och författare.

    Karriär

    Diamant Salihu har albanskt ursprung och föddes i nuvarande Kosovo men är från åtta års ålder uppvuxen i Borlänge.[3][4] Salihu har bland annat arbetat på Värnpliktsnytt och Borlänge Tidning. Han anställdes på tidningen Expressen där han arbetade som reporter och periodvis även var tidningens korrespondent i London och New York.[5] År , då Salihu var reporter på Expressen, dömdes han för vapenbrott efter ett inköp av en pistol för ett researcharbete.[6] År anställdes han som reporter vid Sveriges Television.[4] lämnade han nyhetsredaktionen och blev en del av redaktionen för Uppdrag granskning.[7]

    År publicerade Salihu reportageboken Tills alla dör om konflikter mellan olika gäng på Järvafältet.[2][8] Samma år tilldelades han Stora journalistpriset i kategorin Årets röst för sitt arbete med att bevaka gängvåldet.[9] År fortsatte han sin granskning av de konsekvenser gängkrigen har i Järvaområdet med en fristående del till SVT-programmet Våra barn dör.[10]
